Supplement 1. MATLAB code used in the calculation of asymmetry values.
Datasets usually provide raw data for analysis. This raw data often comes in spreadsheet form, but can be any collection of data, on which analysis can be performed.
This Supplement contains a Matlab script used to calculate asymmetry values. Asymmetry.m needs four supplementary scripts ( corr.m, intimp.m, quant2bin.m, sortmat.m).
Asymmetry.m generates the following outputs: total degree each row (1st column); frequency of interactions each row (2nd column); sum dependences each row (3rd column); asymmetry value for each row (4th column). Finally, it gives the correlation values between abundance and asymmetry.
