Description

This supplement contains the MATLAB files distassign.m and distproj.m, which are generic program files for running matrix-element-selection PVAs as in Satterthwaite et al. (2002). Before running distassign.m, all transition matrices for each time period/disturbance regime combination should be entered, named M1, M2, M3, and so on. M1 should be the first of one or more matrices describing the year or time period of disturbance and matrices for subsequent phases are numbered following the last matrix number of the previous stage. distproj.m should be run after distassign.m.

We have also provided the raw data and selected programs for bootstrapping to obtain confidence intervals for lambdas, elasticities, and quasiextinction risk. A text document, EriBoot.txt gives a description of how these files work together.
