Appendix A. List of selected treatments at each site.

TABLE A1. List of the selected treatments at each site. Litter replicates from all treatments (n = 136) were scanned by near infrared reflectance spectroscopy, while only those from the most representative treatments at each site (n = 86, gray cells) were retained for the microcosm experiment. These latter litter replicates were used to develop calibration equations between litter spectral properties and its decomposability. These calibrations then allowed predicting the decomposability of all litters from their spectral data, including those that were not incubated in microcosm (white cells).
